Leading casual games publisher PopCap Games has entered the mobile gaming market and appointed veteran Andrew Stein as director of mobile business development.

Stein joins the company from Cingular Wireless where he was senior marketing manager for games, and he is charged with spearheading the company's titles on mobile handsets, BlackBerry, iPod and PDA's.

"We're excited to have Andrew joining our management team and taking a critical role within the company," offered Dennis Ryan, EVP of worldwide business development at PopCap.

"Mobile devices, especially phones, could well be the largest market for casual games like ours. Andrew's experience with both the business of mobile games and the production of traditional and videogames is uncommon, and makes for a perfect fit with our organisation."

Before a three year stint at Cingluar, Stein held positions at Sega and Square Enix.
