PopCap Launches Peggle™ and Chuzzle™ Games for Mac® OS X

Front-Runner for Casual Game of 2007 and Winner of Multiple "Casual Game of 2005" Awards Now Available for Macintosh®

SEATTLE, Washington - December 18, 2007 - PopCap Games, the leading developer and publisher of casual games, today announced the immediate availability of its latest hit game Peggle, and one of its most popular match-3 games Chuzzle, for the Apple® Macintosh® line of personal computers. Peggle is among the front-runners for casual game of the year, with PC Gamer (UK) Magazine recently naming it one of the "Top 100 Video Games of All Time" and MSNBC.com including Peggle on its "Five Most Addictive Video Games of All Time" list. Both Peggle and Chuzzle run on Mac® OS X versions 10.3 and higher, and each carries a list price of US$19.95 and can be downloaded for free trial play or purchase at www.popcap.com. Both games are Universal Binaries and can be played on both PowerPC and new Intel-based Macs.

"We're working hard to get our games running natively on Macs and these are two of our biggest titles, so we're excited to see how they're received by the Mac audience," noted Jason Kapalka, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of PopCap. "We're big Mac fans ourselves, and the OS X versions of Peggle and Chuzzle play just like the PC versions - which is to say, once you start playing, it's very tough to stop!"

In Peggle, players fire a metallic silver ball from the top of the screen, relying on gravity to propel the ball downwards while ricocheting off orange and blue "pegs". The goal is to clear all the orange pegs from the screen before running out of balls. A moving "bucket" at the bottom of the screen offers free balls, while green power-up pegs give the player one of ten different abilities courtesy of the ten "Peggle Masters" who guide players through the game. These power-ups include explosive area-clearing blasts, lobster claws which serve as pinball-type flippers, and "fireballs" that cut through all pegs in their path. "But nobody can really be told what Peggle is like," said Kapalka, "you just have to play it for yourself." A runaway hit on the Web, available on retail store shelves (PC version only at this time), and now on the Mac, Peggle is the most innovative and unique game of 2007.

In Chuzzle, players slide rows of cute furballs called "chuzzles" to create vertically or horizontally matching sets of three or more chuzzles of the same color, causing the chuzzles to explode with happiness while more chuzzles drop down to take their places. Four different game modes offer a nearly infinite range of challenges across seemingly limitless levels, and giant chuzzles, rainbow chuzzles, super chuzzles and other bonuses help overcome various obstacles. Available on retail store shelves (PC version only at this time), on the Web, on mobile phones and BlackBerry and now on the Mac, Chuzzle received multiple "Casual Game of the Year" awards in 2005, including one from Billboard Magazine's DEMX Awards.
