PopCap Games® Launches Feeding Frenzy® 2 – Sequel To Fishy Hit Casual Game

New Sea-Based Survival Game Sports New and Improved Features, Fish and Storyline

SEATTLE, Washington - March 15, 2006 - PopCap Games®, the leading developer and publisher of casual games, today announced the immediate availability of Feeding Frenzy® 2, the sequel to the original game in which the player takes on the role of a fast-growing fish who must grow from guppy to goliath while avoiding bigger fish, birds of prey and other dangers. Originally developed by Sprout Games, which was acquired by PopCap in 2005, Feeding Frenzy garnered numerous accolades following its introduction in 2004. Feeding Frenzy 2 carries a retail price of $19.95 and is available for free online play and deluxe download at www.popcap.com and other leading game portals, including RealArcade.com, MSN's Game Zone and Yahoo! Games.

Ed Allard, former co-founder and creative director at Sprout Games and now senior producer at PopCap, oversaw the design and development of Feeding Frenzy 2, just as he did with its predecessor. "Feeding Frenzy was a fun game to make and obviously a lot of fun to play, and making the sequel was even more fun in many ways," Allard stated. "With more resources, more creative input and no deadline by which to complete Feeding Frenzy 2, we were able to really focus on improving key gameplay elements while adding a host of new character abilities, enemies, powerups, effects and the like. And with all-new scenery, better graphics and a wild new storyline, Feeding Frenzy 2 offers as much enjoyment for the novice player as it does for veterans of the original game."

In Feeding Frenzy 2, you start as a tiny fish striving for ocean supremacy in a sea full of predators. Eat your way to the top of the food chain, from tiny butterfly fish to a great white shark. A new storyline finds the ocean in chaos, with some fish species missing and others out of place. Assume the role of six different fish on your mission to discover the cause of the problem and defeat it in order to save the sea. A wide range of new creatures (both friendly and unfriendly), power-ups, super abilities and food provide surprises around every coral.

New features in Feeding Frenzy 2 include:

  • 20 stunning new fish including 10 new species and 10 classics from Feeding Frenzy 1
  • 5 new creatures and obstacles including pelicans, bugs and bioluminescent plankton
  • 8 all new environments, from sunken ships to beautiful reefs and deep-sea caves
  • New "Midnight Zone" levels - use Edie's illuminating lure to light your way
  • New water surface levels where you can leap out of the ocean to catch bugs and power-ups, do back-flips for style points, and more
  • 6 new playable fish, including Boris the Butterfly fish, Goliath the Great White Shark and a mystery bonus fish (unlocked after completing the game)
  • 2 Exciting game modes: Story and Time Attack
  • A host of new power-ups including Shield Fish, Loony Lures, and Shrink Shrooms
  • Enhanced high resolution graphics
  • All new soundtrack
  • Lots of new fish ranks, fun facts, and more
