Pocket God

Second update released for iPhone deity sim.

SAN FRANCISCO - May 7, 2009

Bolt Creative today announced the second in a trilogy of updates for their popular iPhone game Pocket God. Coming very soon, the second episode to take place on the new island gives iPhone-owning deities an answer to their burning question: “What’s in the egg?”

Pocket Gods everywhere can discover what’s inside the mysterious, spotted-purple incubator by encouraging its occupant to emerge after being dropped repeatedly. Of course, the Jurassic creature inside won’t be pleased with your actions – nor will its fully grown mother.

The island inhabitants have dealt with much hardship in their time: volcanoes, lightning strikes, long lines at the outhouse… but a towering beast of a dinosaur might just push them over the edge. For now, the tribe is resigned to running and hiding – but these are cunning people, and next week they might just get their revenge (you’ll help them out, won’t you?).

“This particular series of updates is especially rewarding for us because they represent the first real glimpse of things to come in Pocket God,” said Dave Castelnuovo of Bolt Creative. “What started as a fun app for iPhone owners to play around with has evolved into something we never originally imagined – an engaging gaming experience that entertains through comedy and drama. Next week’s conclusion to the trilogy will give aspiring deities everywhere a concrete idea of where we'll be taking the game, by giving the island inhabitants the power to defend themselves.”
