Player X acquires Gaelco Móviles

Mobile media company plans to leave the core team of Spanish games publisher unchanged as it expands in Europe

Player X has announced it has made its first acquisition in the mobile space by buying Spanish mobile games publisher Gaelco Móviles.

The acquisition is part of the company's planned expansion into mobile distribution and will increase its presence in the European market. Gaelco Móviles will receive an undisclosed payout for the acquisition and its core team will remain unchanged.

"This is the first in a raft of significant strategic moves for Player X and underscores our confidence in the health of the mobile games industry," said Tony Pearce, Player X CEO.

"Our acquisition of Gaelco means we will dramatically increase our distribution in Southern Europe and opens up another gateway into Latin America."
