Pirates of the Somalian: The Pirate Sim

Tasked with making modern pirates as lovable as their Captain Pugwash forebears.

April 1st, 2010, Kaliningrad, Russia – HeroCraft announces the forthcoming game “Pirates of the Somalian: The Pirate Sim” licensed by the Somalian Association of Illegal Fishing Fighters.

In this game the player will aid the young adventurer Hobin Rood to complete his uneasy journey from young dolphin-riding hooligan to Lord of the Southern seas and nightmare of the US Navy. On the way to glory this young Somalian will have to pass many dangerous obstacles and complete various quests: free the floating brothel, find the sunken ship of Jewish gold, fight against the ghostly crew of “Titanic” and finally stand before the International Court of Human Rights.

Aside from the main adventure gameplay, Pirates of the Somalian also offers several mini-games: sort the captives by skin colour (match-3), feed the captives before they starve (time-management) and assemble the AK-47 assault rifle (puzzle). The most successful players will be rewarded by “Valour” medals; also there will be on-line drawing of peg-legs, eye patches and swearing plastic parrots.

“We find it extremely unfair that all the world-famous pirates were white: Francis Drake, Blackbeard, Bill Gates, Larry Flint. Our team has decided to help our Somalian brothers to right this wrong and honour the proud, hard working dark-skinned pirate heroes”, - commented Andrey Horozov, PR-Manager of HeroCraft, - “Also we have decided to name the hero's ship “The White Pearl” to avoid political incorrectness”.

Pavel Prokonich, CEO of HeroCraft, added: “All proceeds from this game will be spent on building a 300-foot underwater monument of the Somalian pirate hero”.

The Somalian labour exchange is taking a serious part in the game's development and is providing HeroCraft with bonus-content: English-Somalian captive phrasebook, pirate pictures for the game characters and a recording of the famous song “Fifteen men on the dead man's chest” in Somalian by Lady Gaga.

“We just want to be loved”, - said Abdullahi Yusuf, president of Somalian Association of Illegal Fishing Fighters.
