PathEngine launches new version of pathfinding system

Middleware firm PathEngine has released the latest version of its pathfinding library, version 4.9, providing a sophisticated system for navigation through 3D spaces including overlapping ground meshes and dynamically placed obstacles.

This latest release of the software adds major optimisations for large meshes, and the SDK for the library includes a detailed example mesh. According to PathEngine founder Thomas Young, the middleware solution makes it much easier to develop robust movement based AI - a key factor in many types of game.
