Overlord Dark Legend

Wicked witches, gingerbread men and the Tooth Fairy among the cast.

Thursday 14th May/... Prepare to lead a horde of mischievous and destructive Minions through a enchanted land that’s steeped in fairytale lore and loaded with sinister and satirical twists in Overlord® Dark Legend™ , coming June 26th exclusively to Wii™. Preview the magic and mayhem that awaits in the ‘When Fairytales Go Bad’ trailer video, now available from www.codemasters.com/darklegend.

Overlord Dark Legend is an all-new Overlord action adventure that has players taking the role of a younger Overlord. Growing up in the Cinderella-esque Castle Gromgard, this teenage Overlord soon discovers the power at his disposal and that he has the support of anarchic army in the form of the Minion horde. As he revels in command of the mischievously malicious and downright destructive Minions, our trainee tyrant heads off to take his growing pains out on the local fairytale inhabitants as he protects his castle and lands.

Penned by renowned games writer, Rhianna Pratchett, the game features Overlord favourites including Halflings, trolls, elves, dwarves and introduces fairytale favourites that include wicked witches, gingerbread men, the Tooth Fairy and Lil’ Red, the seeming sweet girl with a very personal lupine secret.

Designed from the ground up specifically for Wii, in Overlord Dark Legend the Wii Remote™ becomes a true extension of the Overlord’s evil will. Whether swishing the remote to sweep the minion horde into battle or pointing at enemies to zap them with magic spells and fireballs, the action is always intuitive and fluid. Players simply point or sweep the minions to their target and watch as they scramble over themselves to bring mayhem and destruction to everything they touch.

Ever loyal, but ultimately predisposed to violence, the Minions can also be individually picked up by the Overlord with a simple flick of the wrist and, by vigorously shaking the Wii Remote, throttled! With their volatile lifeforce excited and a now-explosive body, the impish critter is transformed into a manic minion missile that can be guided into enemies with fatal consequences for both sides, gibbering all the way. With different coloured minions exploding in different ways, even the belligerent bandits are in for a bad day.

With a story and characters that poke playful fun at fantasy cliché, Overlord Dark Legend will be published by Codemasters® on June 26th, exclusively for Wii. For more information and to see the Minion horde in action against some very angry gingerbread men, instruct your minions to download the new video from www.codemasters.com/darklegend.
