Oberon Media acquires Blaze Mobile

Casual games developer steps into mobile sector

Oberon Media, the company responsible for Astropop and Zuma Deluxe for Xbox 360, as well as other casual PC games, has acquired mobile game publisher Blaze.

The deal will provide Oberon with a diverse portfolio of titles including The Da Vinci Code, VH1 Mobile's I Know the 80s, Rally Pro, MTV Europe Music Awards 2006 Quiz and more, along with access to a network of over 100 distributors worldwide.

"Oberon is thrilled to welcome Blaze with its extensive relationship and distribution partners into the Oberon family," said Ofer Leidner, co-founder of Oberon.

"Blaze's experience will help us to scale and execute our strategy to provide the best casual games experience across multiple platforms," he added.

Martin Forsling, general manager of Blaze Europe added: "Oberon has a strong vision and a proven track record of successful execution, we are very happy to now be a part of this family."

"As the mobile games market consolidates, it will be crucial to focus the effort and with Oberon we can gain an enormous leverage from their casual games knowledge on the web and PC."
