Nintendo is adding the Sega Master System back catalogue to its Virtual Console downloads service.

Japanese consumers will soon be able to choose titles that graced Sega's late 80's home console, with the first two titles confirmed as Fist of the North Star and Fantasy Zone.

Also joining the Master System portfolio will be titles from Sega's Game Gear handheld and the Sega Mark III, a console only released in Japan.

The Virtual Console is one of the Wii's Shop Channels, offering retro games from NES, SNES, Sega Megadrive, TurboGrafx, NEO Geo and MSX consoles.

Last November Nintendo revealed that the service had generated USD 33 million in sales, with over 7.8 million items downloaded.
