Nintendo acquires RPG specialist Monolith

Namco Bandai has sold an 80 per cent share of Japanese developer Monolith Soft to Nintendo

Namco Bandai has sold an 80 per cent share of Japanese developer Monolith Soft to Nintendo, ign is reporting.

The developer is best known for the RPG series Xenosaga, and also worked on the Baten Kaitos series for Nintendo's GameCube.

Namco Bandai will retain a 16 per cent share of the developer.

Representatives from Nintendo were not available at the time of writing.
