NFS World passes 1 million registrations

EA's online racer set to receive regular updates in coming months

Electronic Arts has announced that Need for Speed World, it's free-to-play (as of today) online racing title has now passed 1 million registered users.

Additionally the publisher has confirmed that it will continue to support the title in the upcoming months with new features and content, including cars, customisation options, a new region and co-op mode.

"Need for Speed fans have played a critical role in making Need for Speed World a success," said John Doyle, senior producer on the game. "Fan feedback has helped shape every aspect of the experience - whether it's the creation of a new feature or improving polish and progression.

"We're excited to open the gates so that every Need for Speed World player now has free access to all current and future content including new modes, cars, features and more."

The Black Box-developed title is one of several of Electronic Arts' forays into online-native titles and alternative business models.
