Next Level Dundee

Roger Rabbit animator Fraser MacLean to open creative event.

An internationally acclaimed animator who worked for Disney on ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit?’ and ‘Tarzan’ is among the expert mentors at an intensive one-week creative team event at the University of Abertay Dundee.

Fraser MacLean and Dundee Contemporary Arts Director Clive Gillman are both sharing their experience at Next Level Dundee, an event for digital artists and budding new media professionals looking for their big break in the industry.

After a tough selection process, five teams of five people now have just a week to work together to a brief of ‘The Elements’. The final animations, artworks and games will then be showcased to industry professionals.

Next Level Dundee organiser Iain Smith, a student at Abertay University, said: “The whole point of Next Level Dundee is giving talented, creative people the opportunity to develop their skills and gain advice and experience from industry professionals.

“For people just starting their creative careers, having access to experts like Fraser MacLean is an incredible opportunity. I look forward to a very hard week’s work with some incredible results!”

Original news release announcing the event is included below.
