New Editor for PC Zone

Jamie Sefton takes the helm ahead of debut for long-awaited redesign

13/07/05 - Future Entertainment has announced the appointment of Jamie Sefton as the new Editor of long-running PC games magazine, PC Zone.

Moving into the Editor's chair one month before the magazine's eagerly-awaited new look is unleashed, Sefton replaces outgoing Editor Dave Woods - who leaves Future after overseeing the redesign. Most recently Associate Editor on PC Zone, Jamie has worked on the title for three years, and previously held positions on Dennis Publishing's PlayNation and Future's Arcade and Official PlayStation 2 magazine.

The redesigned PC Zone goes on sale Thursday 18th August and reveals the title's first new-look in almost four years. Despite its exciting new look and overhauled structure, the magazine promises to retain the much-loved essence of zone - high quality editorial written by the UK's best games journalists, delivering the perfect balance of humour and the latest PC gaming news, previews, reviews and features.

Newly promoted Editor of PC Zone, Jamie Sefton says:

"I've been with PC Zone for three years and I'm delighted to be taking over the big chair. For me, the battle to make Zone a significantly different proposition from PC Gamer is more important than ever. The team and I will continue to make a magazine in our own way, whilst freshening up our approach to reporting on the PC games market. PC Zone's new look will make an impact and will give us increased leverage when competing for exclusive reviews and features."

James Ashton is Publisher of Future's London games titles for Future Entertainment:

"Playing a major part of the PC Zone team for three years and his unparalleled knowledge and passion for PC games made Jamie the right person for this challenging role. He has the ideas and the enthusiasm to drive PC Zone forward but impressed us with his loyalty to the history of the magazine, vowing not to alter the tone and irreverent approach which has made it so popular. The new look PC Zone is fantastic and will make the differences between our two competing PC games magazines even more apparent."

The redesigned PC Zone goes on sale, August 18th, with a coverprice of £5.49 for the CD, and £5.99 for the DVD version.
