British Academy Video Games Awards

The 2012 GAME British Academy Video Games Awards will take place on Friday 16 March 2012 at the London Hilton on Park Lane and, for the fourth year running, will be hosted by comedian and gamer, Dara O’Briain. The nominations will be announced on Thursday 16 February 2012.

Fuel4 Games Event & Channel 4 Online Spring Briefing

Come Game With Me is the second Fuel4 event for 2012 (following on from the Evolution of Entertainment on January 19). Hosted by Colin Macdonald, Channel 4’s games commissioning editor, it will be an opportunity for games and TV producers to come together and explore previous success stories, look at emerging trends, forge new relationships and even find some time to play. You’ll not want to miss it.
After Come Game With Me finishes at around 6pm, it will be followed by Channel 4 Online’s spring briefing at 6:45pm. As well as those who have attended Come Game With Me, a wider audience will attend this briefing including digital companies who don’t specialise in games, as well as other TV producers. This is where attendees can hear what opportunities there are to work with Channel 4 Online, and what ideas we are looking for across games, multiplatform, connected TV formats and digital products.

Acclaimed video game director Hideo Kojima will deliver this year’s BAFTA Annual Games Lecture supported by Autodesk on Friday 28 September, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced today. The Japanese creator of the hugely successful METAL GEAR series will be sharing his views on the creative landscape in games.

The Brasil Game Show is the first and only Brazilian Game Show held over five consecutive years. This feat has been achieved by maintaining a 100% national corporate viewpoint and by focusing on growing the market for electronic games.

Through this success and attendance record, BGS has become the primary games fair in the country's two largest cities: Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Beginning with the next edition, the event will be biennial, alternating between these two cities.
