Which is better, Xbox or PC? In 2006, independent London developers Introversion won glowing reviews for their haunting geometric wargame Darwinia, set in a living virtual universe inside your PC. They were as surprised as anyone when it took them 4 years to complete the apparently straightforward task of adapting it from PC to Xbox Live Arcade.

Admittedly, they added a whole new multiplayer game and many other enhancements, but famously forthright Introversion directors Mark Morris and Chris Delay also reveal the real ups and downs of coding for consoles. And, when choosing a platform is one of the biggest development decisions you can make, could the PC's heyday of indie experimentation be drawing to an end?
