NEoN Digital Arts Festival 2009

Game composers Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall to speak at Dundee's event next month.

Dundee: Monday 26 October 2009: Influential video game soundtrack composers Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall have today confirmed that they will be addressing attendees at the inaugural NEoN Digital Arts Festival, taking place across the city of Dundee Friday 13th to Sunday 15th November. The iconic composers will host an insightful session on Saturday afternoon, discussing the nature of music in videogames and offering attendees a rare opportunity to pose burning questions.

As well as penning iconic soundtracks for a wide range of classic titles including Earthworm Jim, Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia and Mass Effect, the duo founded Video Games Live! an orchestral celebration of video game soundtracks from the last four decades. The show is a true spectacle of music and stunning visuals, fast becoming a worldwide phenomenon that has garnered a widespread following from gamers of all ages.

To close NEoN Digital Arts Festival, Tommy and Jack, in collaboration with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, will perform the first show of the 2009/2010 Video Games Live! European Tour at the Caird Hall, Dundee on Sunday 15th November.

The show includes classical renditions of songs from games including Halo, Final Fantasy, Super Mario Bros, Sonic the Hedgehog and World of Warcaft. Attendees are also invited to NEoN Public, a free consumer event taking place before the concert, where the general public can get to grips with many of the latest and greatest video games available today.

Tickets for Video Games Live are available from the official Caird Hall booking website (link) and Ticketmaster Scotland (link). Further information can be found at the official NEoN Digital Arts Festival website ( http://www.northeastofnorth.com) and on the official Twitter feed @weareneon.
