NCsoft And Future Team Up For Unique Guild Wars Trial Promotion

Exclusive trials for Guild Wars Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall to appear simultaneously across Future's PC gaming magazines

Friday 18th May/...Leading online games publisher NCsoft® Europe has joined forces with Future, the leading publisher of games magazines and websites, for a unique and exclusive cover disc promotion that's set to blow online role-playing game fans away. For the first time anywhere in the world, NCsoft is simultaneously offering trial versions of all three of its Guild Wars® online role-playing titles, with a different trial appearing on each of Future's three leading PC games magazines.

Each of the 14 day trials* - consisting of Guild Wars Prophecies on PC Gamer, Guild Wars Factions on PC Format and Guild Wars Nightfall on PC Zone - give gamers the chance to dive into the phenomenally popular world of Guild Wars for themselves, becoming embroiled in fantastical adventures, daring treasure hunts and fiercely competitive player-vs.-player combat.

Guild Wars Prophecies launched in April 2005 to both critical and commercial acclaim and, together with its two subsequent sequel campaigns, Factions and Nightfall, quickly became established as one of the most successful online role-playing games of all time. Each of the Guild Wars campaigns is a separate game in itself, with its own storyline, characters, objectives and player abilities and all boast a completely free-to-play subscription model.

"We're delighted to be working with Future Publishing on such an amazing promotional campaign," said David Blundell, NCsoft European PR Manager. "Each of the Guild Wars games offers a unique and thrilling experience for the player. By offering all three trials at the same time we're giving gamers the perfect opportunity to sample everything the Guild Wars series has to show. And with Guild Wars: Eye of the North, the eagerly anticipated official expansion pack, available this Autumn, there's never been a better time to start playing this amazing online role-playing game."

James Binns, Publishing Director at Future added: "To run a promotion across three different magazines in this manner is unprecedented. It shows the unique, joined up approach that only Future can offer and, based on NRS Extra data will deliver a reach of over 1.2m gamers. We're extremely excited to be working with NCsoft on an incredible collaboration between the world's greatest PC gaming magazines and one of the most popular online gaming franchises."

The first of the three trials, complete with activation codes, kick off with Guild Wars Nightfall on the new issue of PC Zone, out 24th May, followed by Prophecies and Factions, which will appear on the new issues of PC Gamer and PC Format, both out 7th June.

- Guild Wars trials are limited to 14 days / 10 hours play time, which ever expires first. Trials can be used once per campaign on the same account and are not for individual sale.
