Namco Networks extends ringtone services

Classic arcade and console game ringtones now available

Namco Networks, the dedicated mobile subsidiary of newly merged Namco-Bandai Holdings, has announced the launch of a new range of classic and popular videogame ringtones via its Pac-Man's Arcade Corner portal.

Available to download from as little as USD 1.99, Pac-Man's Arcade Corner currently hosts a range of classic games ringtones and mobile phone accessory content, based on Namco properties and popular games from numerous publishers.

The new ringtones include authentic sounds from Namco's award-winning console games Katamari Damacy and its recently released sequel, We Love Katamari. Classic franchises including Tekken, Ace Combat and Time Crisis all have new game ringtones available, and the list is further extended with more ringtones from classics Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga and SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog.

Namco Networks is the only game publisher with a dedicated game ringtone application, and the company intends to continue extending its service, offering new game ringtones and exclusive content from its vast back-catalogue of videogames, as well as games from other publishers.

Scott Rubin, Namco Networks' VP of sales and marketing, said: "Namco Networks recognizes the prevalence of arcade and video games in our culture and that consumers of mobile entertainment find value in and identify with these popular games. Pac-Man's Arcade Corner gives consumers the opportunity to personalise their mobile phone experience with their favourite video game sounds."

Namco Networks is a subsidiary of the recently merged Namco-Bandai Holdings, and was officially established as a dedicated mobile division on January 1st, 2006. The company will remain a provider of exclusive game-related mobile content to all major providers, offering ringtones, wallpapers, sounds and music from featuring characters and screenshots from videogames. The current portfolio of branded and original games will be extended, including the addition of more complex, 3D titles based on best-selling brands such as Ridge Racer and Time Crisis.
