Namco Bandai Partners France/Rising Star deal

Distribution sorted out for Muramasa : The Demon Blade and U-ON: The Grudge.

22nd October 2009 – NAMCO BANDAI Partners France today announced a new partnership with Rising Star Games for the distribution of all the titles coming within the next 6 months. This deal includes, amongst others, the already acclaimed Muramasa : The Demon Blade (available on November, 20th) and the innovative fright simulator JU-ON: The Grudge (available on October, 30th).

Martin Defries Managing Director and COO at Rising Star Games applauded Namco Bandai Frances understanding and commitment to the Rising Stars products and brands: “In Namco Bandai France we have found a partner that really understands our product and philosophy and who, crucially, has the market strength, consumer focus and reach to represent our diverse products through the key season ahead and into 2010”.

Hervé Hoerdt, Sales and Marketing Director of NAMCO BANDAI Partners France, is also really enthusiastic about this new commitment: “We are very proud that Rising Star are trusting us for the distribution of such great products, this shows our strength as an international distribution network and our commitment to develop deep and mutually profitable relationships with selected partners”.

About JU-ON : The Grudge

Based on the classic Japanese horror movie, JU-ON: The Grudge is a ‘haunted house simulator’ where accessibility and instant scares are a highlight over other game aspects. Original movie creator, Takashi Shimizu, is heavily involved in the development of the game and serves as a creative consultant. Using the Wii Remote as a flashlight, JU-ON: The Grudge has players move forward with the touch of a button and explore haunted areas such as an abandoned warehouse, a dimly lit hospital and a mannequin factory. With a story revolving around the unfortunate Yamada family, JU-ON: The Grudge features a new unique gameplay mechanic that measures your movements during play - the more you flinch and jump, the worse your success rate becomes. The player can progress through the game with bad scores, but it is those with a steady hand and nerves of steel that will have the most to gain from this experience. The game will be released on October, 30th.

About Muramasa : The Demon Blade

Kisuke is a fugitive being chased for a crime he no longer remembers, mysteriously driven to search for an unknown katana. Momohime, after being possessed by the spirit of the fould swordsman Jinkuro Izuna, is forced to flee her castle and accept a grave mission. Both will cross paths with the demon swordsmith, Muramasa - fight or die, that is his price. Muramasa proposes beautiful hand-drawn graphics from the creators of Odin Sphere, in addition to a fast and intuitive action combat including dramatic special moves. The integration of ancient folklore, traditional Japanese imagery and modern relentless action is gorgeous. The game will be released on November, 20th.
