Multiplay Announces Attendance of Electronic Arts for i27 LAN Event in April 06

Battlefield 2 Tournament Boasts £5,000 Prize Fund

LONDON, 3rd February 2006, Multiplay - Multiplay, organiser of the largest LAN parties in the UK and Europe's biggest Online GSP, is pleased to announce the attendance of Electronic Arts (EA) for Multiplay's i27 event in April. EA, the world's leading interactive entertainment software company, will be providing the i27 Battlefield 2TM tournament with a total prize fund of £5,000.

Craig Fletcher, Managing Director of Multiplay, said "There are plenty of reasons to come to i27 other than big prizes, but when a company like EA steps in and offers this kind of prize money for their title tournament, there will no doubt be some major clans from both the UK and Europe attracted by this level of competition. It will raise the standard of gaming at i27, not just for the competitors but for spectators as well. Overall i27 is shaping up to be a historical LAN for both Multiplay and the UK gaming scene as a whole."

Battlefield 2 features immense, richly detailed, destructible environments, from city streets to remote forests, in some of the most notorious hot spots around the world. Each map in Battlefield 2 adjusts in scale to support the number of players in the world, providing the ideal vehicle- to-player ratio and an optimised gameplay experience.

i27 takes place between 14th - 17th April 2006 in Newbury, UK. With space for up to 1,000 players it's the UK's biggest and most successful LAN party. Find out more by going to www.multiplay.co.uk/i27.
