Movie speakers drop out of Edinburgh event

Four key speakers for this year's Edinburgh Interactive Festival will not be attending the event, due to take place later this month, <i>GamesIndustry.biz</i> can reveal.

Four key speakers for this year's Edinburgh Interactive Festival will not be attending the event, due to take place later this month, GamesIndustry.biz can reveal.

Lord of the Rings and King Kong actor Andy Serkis, Fight Club director David Fincher, Pirates of the Caribbean screenwriter Stuart Beattie and actor, writer and director Steven Berkoff will not be involved in any sessions taking place at the cultural event.

Berkoff was due to discuss the art of performance capture, as was Andy Serkis, who has recently worked with Ninja Theory on PlayStation 3 title Heavenly Sword.

This year's event features keynotes from Ubisoft's Yves Guillemot, and an as yet unconfirmed representative from Sony Computer Entertainment.

The event takes place August 13 — 14 at the Royal College of Physicians, Queen Street and The Odeon, Lothain Road. Full details can be seen on the official website.
