Mountain Bike Challenge 09

Fourth season of Greentube's downhill biking game comes to a close with two million gamers having taken part.

Just a few weeks ago the fourth season of Greentube’s spectacular downhill biking game Mountain Bike Challenge 09 drew to a close. A total of 2 million active gamers put themselves to the test in thrilling races on Greentube’s challenging courses - first in the qualifying, then in the competitive race events. Based on the success of “Ski Challenge”, MBC 09 gamers were able to qualify for races online. Four exciting international tracks were available: Fort William, Heiligenblut, the Great Wall of China and the new, action-packed forest track Winterberg.

Media partners from a total of five countries were involved in the 2009 season: Austria (Austria.com), Germany (SevenOne Deutschland), Switzerland (SevenOne Schweiz), France (France Télévision) and the UK licensed the popular free game, which is financed by In-Game Advertising. True to previous seasons, most of the gamers came from German-speaking countries. A range of international advertising partners was again on board, including household names such as Wagner Pizza, RTL, Carrefour, Lokalisten.de, Hutchison, Massive Moves, and Bouygues Telecom.

MBC 09 proved again to be a hit particularly among younger gamers and sport fans - over two million gamers were involved over the course of the season. Moreover, around 600 million AdImpressions were registered. Just like all of Greentube’s 3D games, MBC was financed by In-Game Advertising and was available as a free download. A host of upgrades are already planned for the coming MBC 10 season, to ensure that the demand for even more action and excitement is met.

Greentube has since become a shining example worldwide in this segment of the online gaming industry. With its series of free-to-download sport games alone, Greentube has reached more than 10 million gamers around the world. And this figure is set to grow with further titles to be added to the already impressive portfolio next year.
