The organisers of this year's Game Developer Conference in Leipzig have announced that Lionhead Studios founder Peter Molyneux will deliver a keynote speech at the event.

Molyneux has worked in the industry for more than two decades, having co-founded Bullfrog Productions in 1987 and helped to create hit titles such as Dungeon Keeper, Magic Carpet and Theme Park.

Lionhead Studios was established in 1997, and has since enjoyed success with the likes of Black & White and Fable. In April of this year, the company was acquired by Microsoft Game Studios for an undisclosed sum. Molyneux was recently awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Abertay and won a place in the Hall of Fame of the Academy of Interactive Art and Science.

This year's GCDC will take place from August 21 - 23, and will feature keynote speeches on a range of topics including game development, business strategies, serious games and mobile entertainment. Other industry veterans confirmed for the event include IGDA chairman Bob Bates, Stormfront Studios president Don Daglow and Graham Hopper, senior VP of Buena Games Worldwide.

More information about the event is available from the official GCDC website.
