Military Madness: Neo Nectaris

TurboGrafx-16 turn-based strategy update available for the iPod now.

San Mateo, Calif. – Feb 9, 2010 – Pocket generals, your army awaits as Hudson Entertainment, the North and South American subsidiary of HUDSON SOFT, revives the classic Military Madness strategy game for the iPhone® and iPod® touch as Military Madness: Neo Nectaris. Based on the same turn-based strategy gameplay of the original TurboGrafx-16 title and available now, Military Madness: Neo Nectaris features updated visuals, re-imagined cut scenes and full touch screen gameplay capabilities all for $4.99 on the App Store.

“Tactical gamers now have a chance to be strategic generals on the go with Military Madness: Neo Nectaris,” said Yoko Tsumagari, vice president of mobile games at Hudson Entertainment. “As a classic Hudson franchise and one of the first turn-based strategy games, Military Madness is a perfect title to upgrade for iPhone and iPod touch users looking for a new challenge.”

Within a year of its original release on the TurboGrafx-16 in 1989, Military Madness won awards for “Best Military Strategy Game” and “Best War Game.” The game features two opposing forces with near-future military equipment battling it out on the Moon. Each level is a distinct map with a hex grid, on which players take turns moving their units in an effort to win by destroying all enemy units or taking over the enemy headquarters. Like the original title, the cornerstone of the addictive gameplay in Military Madness: Neo Nectaris is understanding the strengths and limitations of each unit. With the new touch screen controls, players can zip across the screen and select units with ease. As an adaptation of Military Madness 2, which was previously released for traditional mobile devices, Military Madness: Neo Nectaris upgrades every facet of the original along with an all new musical score and 48 new levels of tactical gameplay.
