Milestone edition of PC Gamer takes a world exclusive visit to San Andreas

UK’s best-selling PC games magazine hits 150th issue in style

02/06/05 - The UK's best-selling PC games magazine, PC Gamer, celebrates its milestone 150th issue (09/06/05) in style next month, with the world exclusive first PC review of GTA: San Andreas.

Alongside the definitive review of Rockstar's latest blockbuster game, the 150th issue of PC Gamer comes in a commemorative wallet and boasts one of four ultra limited-edition collectors' covers featuring characters from GTA: San Andreas.

Since launching PC Gamer in 1993, Future's magazine has been trusted, essential reading for both the games-buying public and the industry. Delivering detailed features and the most authoritative, honest and entertaining reviews, PC Gamer consistently reveals the biggest games on the format first.

To celebrate its anniversary, PC Gamer 150 also features a special article covering the 150 greatest gaming moments. From the finest frags in Quake to being shrunk in Duke Nukem 3D, the 17 page feature covers the best moments from a lifetime of PC gaming.

Mark Donald is Editor of PC Gamer:

"I'm delighted to be the Editor of PC Gamer as we reach our 150th issue. It's an exciting time for the magazine, and despite the rise of new consoles, the PC continues to define the cutting edge of gaming. With so many exciting games and concepts debuting on the PC before other formats, PC Gamer continues to cover these first. While games consoles get more powerful, new PC hardware constantly evolves to push gaming frontiers even further. This major difference ensures an exciting future for both the PC as a gaming platform and for PC Gamer itself."

Matt Pierce is Publisher of PC Gamer:

"This milestone for PC Gamer is a time for celebration, and the team have reached it in style, securing the world exclusive first review of GTA: San Andreas amongst many other editorial treats. As a gaming platform the PC remains just as exciting as it did when we launched PC Gamer in 1993, and despite the almost constant reports of the demise of PC gaming, the format had an incredibly strong showing of ground-breaking games at the recent E3 trade show".

Issue 150 of PC Gamer also features the first previews of Rise of Nations 2, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Football Manager 2006 and the sequel to Operation Flashpoint 2. The essential covermounted discs include a 14 day free play of City of Heroes, as well as playable demos of Brothers in Arms, Pariah, Act of War and Cossacks 2. The disc also features a collection of the best modifications, tools and extras for many popular gaming titles, including Half Life 2 and Call of Duty.

Issue 150 of PC Gamer goes on sale Thursday 9 June, with a coverprice of £5.49 for the double CD-ROM edition and £5.99 for the DVD-ROM edition.
