Midlands MCM Expo 2010

Twice as many advance tickets sold as last year; floor space sold out.

20 FEBRUARY – TELFORD INTERNATIONAL CENTRE – ST QUENTIN GATE

Advance ticket sales for the upcoming Midlands MCM Expo are more than double those of last year’s event – which itself enjoyed record attendance figures, the show’s organisers have announced. In addition, the organisers have revealed that exhibitor floor space for the Expo, which takes place at Telford International Centre on 20 February, has already completely sold out.

And it’s not hard to see why the show is such a hit with visitors and exhibitors alike – packed with attractions ranging from movie star special guests to battling robots to major videogames publishers offering sneak previews of their hottest titles, the Midlands MCM Expo is set to be a great day’s entertainment for the whole family.

Highlights include Q&A and autograph signing sessions by two Harry Potter stars, Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) and Warwick Davis (Filius Flitwick), and Tommy Knight, who plays Luke Smith in the BBC’s hit Doctor Who spin-off, The Sarah Jane Adventures. Meanwhile, younger visitors will get the chance to meet Justin Fletcher and Sarah-Jane Honeywell from CBeebies’ show Higgledy House.

On the gaming side, the Expo is proud to announce that it will be giving UK gamers their first ever opportunity to play the critically-acclaimed 3D Dot Game Heroes, courtesy of South Peak Games. Videogame fans will also want to check out the Electronic Arts, Tecmo KOEI and Konami stands, where titles such as Mass Effect 2, Dynasty Warriors: Strike Force and Army of Two: The 40th Day will be showcased.

The hall will also play host to Robots Live, the UK’s most popular live robotics event. Having wowed crowds at last year’s Memorabilia show at the NEC, Behemoth, Terror Hurtz, Storm II and other automated stars of the popular BBC2 series Robot Wars are returning to battle for the glory of being the last ’bot standing.

With ticket sales booming and exhibitors queuing up to take part, the Midlands MCM Expo is set to be a great opening to a great 2010 for the MCM Group, with the Spring Memorabilia Show taking place at Birmingham’s NEC on 27-28 March and the huge London MCM Expo at London’s Excel Centre on 29-30 May.
