Michael Denny to open Develop Liverpool

Sony Worldwide Studios Euro boss to explain the IP commissioning process

The organisers of next month's Develop Liverpool have announced Sony Worldwide Studios Europe president Michael Denny as the opening keynote for the event.

He'll be delivering a talk entitled "Quality, Relevance, Innovation" in the first session of the day, which will outline what Sony Computer Entertainment looks for when commissioning original IPs from independent developers.

"The Develop conference always represents an important gathering for the industry, offering a great opportunity for sharing both knowledge and insights," he said. "The UK remains a beacon for the global games development industry, and the North West has been a creative hub within the UK development scene for many years.

"I'm very much looking forward to the event, and it's a privilege to be invited to deliver the opening keynote at this inaugural event in Liverpool," he added.

Develop Liverpool, for which GamesIndustry.biz is a media partner, is taking place on November 5 at the Arena and Conference Center in the city. A full schedule for the day will be available for GamesIndustry.biz Network members shortly, who will be able to add sessions to their diary and arrange meeting with other Network members ahead of the day itself.
