The organisers of the third annual Edinburgh Interactive Entertainment Festival, scheduled to take place next month, have announced that media accreditation for the event has now opened.

Billed as "the unique industry and consumer event of the year," EIEF will feature three key strands in total. Edinburgh Interactive, a trade-only strand, will see industry leaders discussing hot topics and debating the future of videogames.

Go Play Games will offer consumers the chance to try out games from the likes of Sony, Nintendo, Xbox and Ubisoft, and take a look at the latest technology being developed by companies such as NVIDIA.

The Game Screenings strand will feature premieres of seven highly anticipated titles including The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Nintendogs and 24: The Game.

EIEF will take place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre from 10-14 August. To request press accreditation, email eief@taylorherring.com with the word 'Edinburgh' in the subject heading, including your contact information and publication details. The closing date for applications is August 5.

More information is available from the EIEF website.
