London - Developed in partnership with world renowned historian Niall Ferguson, Making History II: The War of the World marks a dramatic step forward in the Making History series. From the factories and shipyards on the home front, to epic battles across the globe, Making History II gives World War II grand strategy gamers the opportunity to lead a nation and remake history. "Economic resources were decisive in the outcome of the war", says Niall Ferguson. "By giving equal measure to economic as well as military components, Making History II presents a more complete model of the driving forces behind World War II."

The special edition pack set for release on 21st May 2010 includes a bonus world map for players to track their chosen nation's victories and a free documentary DVD for war enthusiasts "A Concise History of WWII".

Making History II was made to historically accuracy, particually from an economic point of view, and allows players to pick from 80 nations and over 800 regions. Each nation is given detailed characteristics built on extensive historical research, including economic and military strengths, diplomatic relations, ideology, and technical advancement. Each region features terrain, infrastructure, resource production and more. The detailed 3-D map creates an immersive environment and allows players to spend more time on the map building their cities and planning battles.

In addition to a robust single player experience Making History II also offers an innovative approach to multiplayer. Multiplayer games are launched and hosted on the Making History Gaming Headquarters website, which greatly eases the task of finding opponents and getting into the game. You can play with up to eight others in multiplayer mode, using in-game chat to devise joint strategies and secret pacts. Will you be a trusted ally or a backstabbing tyrant?

Pick from 80 nations and 800+ regions. There are six scenarios let you start at a crucial historic moment, focus on a specific event, or play the whole war. Scenarios cover the fall of France, Pearl Harbor, the D-Day invasion of Europe, the Sudeten crisis and more, and each is based on detailed research. You can work to succeed where others failed, or take a different path and see what happens. Play with up to eight others in multiplayer mode, using in-game chat to devise joint strategies and secret pacts. Populations are divided by culture, ethnicity, religion and political ideology; factors that destabilize nations, provoking revolts, coups and civil wars. Intelligent AI instigates, reacts and adapts to the changing game dynamics generating action on the home front and abroad. Each nation has a unique set of characteristics that influences behavior. Manage your colonies, liberate new nations, establish puppet states or annex their territory. Engage in espionage and interfere in the internal affairs of your neighbours.
