Credit crunch good for business, reckons mobile games provider; Christmas Day a winner.

London, UK 6th January 2009: M-Biz Global today gave the mobile game industry some much needed cheer as it reported its 2008 sales of SIM free or ‘vanilla’ mobile games have soared by 62 per cent compared to last year in EMEA. M-Biz Global attributed the increase in sales to the ease-of-use of its service as well as the credit crunch, as consumers less willing to spend money going out seek relative cheap entertainment on their mobile.

Specifically, M-Biz Global revealed that December produced the following results:

- 50% increase in the number of mobile games sold in the UK compared to the average sales of Jan-Nov 2008, and 21.29 % increase across the globe (EMEA).

- Mini Golf Las Vegas from Digital Chocolate was the most popular game in the UK.

- 25th December was the most popular day in December for mobile game downloads.

- 6 times more games were sold on 25th Dec compared to the average daily sales in the UK.

Representing approximately 30% of all handset sales the vanilla handset market is rapidly attracting the attention of leading mobile game publishers as M-Biz Global continues to convert consumers into paying mobile gamers. M-Biz Global’s unique TryNBuy service enables consumers, within just a few clicks, to be playing the games they want.

Hyongsuk Kim, CEO of M-Biz Global said, “Our TryNBuy solution is giving casual gamers an easy and affordable purchasing option for entertaining mobile games. Within a couple of clicks, they can be enjoying the game whenever and wherever they choose.” concluded Kim.
