Luxology's modo Receives Prestigious Game Developer Magazine Front Line Award

modo Selected as "Best Art Tool" in Competition Recognizing the Year's Best Game Development Software

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jan. 8, 2007

San Mateo, Calif. - Jan. 8, 2007 - Luxology® LLC, an independent technology company developing next-generation 3D content creation software, today announced that modo 202 was chosen as the "Best Art Tool" in the ninth annual Front Line Awards competition. The awards are bestowed by the CMP Game Group's Game Developer magazine in a competition that honors excellence and innovation in hardware and software for programming, art, audio and game components. Winners were selected for their ability to advance the art of game creation by crafting more efficient and effective tools.

"We appreciate this coveted award and public recognition for what many game developers have already discovered - that modo can make a significant difference in artist productivity," said Brad Peebler, president of Luxology. "modo offers a level of speed and control for 3D content creation that has artists rallying to get it into their companies' pipelines."

"Every once in a while a tool comes around that really gets people excited, and right now that tool is modo," said Seneca Menard, 3D artist at id Software. "modo is a clear favorite among our artists and every week we find some new way to speed up our work - whether through a specific hotkey, a new custom tool preset, a multi-tool-combination, or a new macro or script."

modo is an innovative 3D modeling, painting and rendering software designed to accelerate the creation of world-class models, associated color and normal maps, and ultra high-quality renderings. modo's modern workflow and advanced toolset easily deliver enhanced productivity for 3D artists working in game development, design visualization, film visual effects, video production and graphic arts. A free 30-day full-featured evaluation version of modo is available for immediate download from www.modo3d.com.
