LucasArts, Double Fine, F9 confirmed for GDC Europe

BigPoint, 2K Games, TGC also lined up for August event

Details of new panels and talks have been confirmed by the organisers of GDC Europe, expanding the existing roster with speakers from LucasArts, Double Fine and Foundation 9, amongst others.

The range of topics includes a discussion of ways to succeed in the resurgent indie market, led by Foundation 9 VP Chris Charla, Double Fine's Zack Karlsson and Bigpoint's Nils-Holger Henning, as well as a panel titled Extreme Producing: Order & Chaos in The Game Development Process, featuring speakers from ThatGameCompany, 2K Games and LucasArts.

New talks on social and online gaming have also been scheduled, joining presentations from Playdom, RockYou, Bigpoint, Digital Chocolate, Tencent and Playfish.

Speakers from Gamigo, GamersFirst and IGG will tackle the thorny question of browser-based versus client-downloaded online games, with a special case-study on the localisation of the Asian online game Runes of Magic taking place.

Also on the subject of social gaming, Planeto CEO Martin Walfisz talks about his transition from founder of 'core' gamer centred Massive Entertainment to starting his new social games company in his talk on Wiring a Hardcore Brain to a Social Mindset.

The event takes place in Cologne August 16-18, the three days preceding the consumer-focussed GamesCom. More details on all events at GDC are available from the organiser's website, registration for the event closes on August 12.
