Heroes of the Pacific puts you in the cockpit of a massive variety of authentic Japanese and US military aircraft with the speed and firepower to blaze a trail of death across the skies. Of all the military planes you get to pilot in the game, the Dive Bombers and the Torpedo Bombers are the most effective at wrecking the enemy fleet.

All the big ships are vulnerable to attack from the air - they are large, slow moving targets and relatively easy to hit with bombs. These ships tended to be very heavily armored to the sides, but not so on their decks and so are particularly vulnerable to dive-bombing.

You would do well to choose the SBD Dauntless, responsible for sinking four Japanese carriers at Midway, and swoop in from above the clouds and dive bomb enemy targets to achieve your missions.

Alternatively, pilot the TBF Avenger, a massively stable and strong aircraft, fly just above the water and deliver a torpedo into the hull of an enemy vessel, leaving a flaming wreck sinking to the depths of the Pacific Ocean as you soar into the skies!

In Heroes of the Pacific your main tactical role is to destroy the enemy surface forces, such as massive aircraft carriers, nicknamed the "flat-tops". These metal giants were the most critical surface units in the Pacific Theatre.

After the surprise air attack on Pearl Harbor, shown so dramatically at the start of the game, battleships were virtually obsolete. Their limited striking range and slow speed made them tactically inferior to the carriers, which could launch scores of planes to strike at targets hundreds of miles away. This is where you play your part as an ace fighter pilot.

Prepare to wage war on the enemy in the skies and also on the ocean's surface in Heroes of the Pacific coming September 23rd for PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC.
