Last year's inaugural London Games Festival was popular enough to warrant a follow-up this year, and as expected the heart of the event will be the British Academy Video Games Awards.

Although no additional details have been announced, last year's ceremony was hosted by Vernon Kay and televised on T4, giving it some mainstream coverage.

Other key consumer events to take place this year will include a Videogames Live concert at the Royal Albert Hall and a study of immersion in videogames at the Science Museum.

Additionally there will be several forum events, covering legal issues in the industry and corporate opportunities in virtual worlds, while ELSPA will run a session on the perception of gaming.

Rounding off the current list of events is the London Game Career Fair, following last year's success.

No details have yet been announced on the trade events to be included at LGF umbrella, which takes place in London between October 22 - 26.
