Leipzig announces travel improvements

The organisers of Games Convention in Leipzig have announced new travel options for people planning to attend this year's event, to try and alleviate some of the problems suffered in past years.

The organisers of Games Convention in Leipzig have announced new travel options for people planning to attend this year's event, to try and alleviate some of the problems suffered in past years.

Leipziger Messe has arranged six additional charter flights from Amsterdam, Helsinki, London (Luton), Munich, Paris (Le Bourget) and Vienna, departing on August 19 and 20, with return flights available on August 21 and 22.

Additionally German rail operator Deutsche Bahn is offering a special Games Convention ticket, valid from any DB station, at EUR 99 for second class or EUR 159 for first class.

Plans for a direct coach service from over 30 towns in Germany were also revealed, arriving at Leipzig by 10am on the Friday or Saturday, with a variable cost depending on distance - although a minimum of 50 people will need to book on any one route for it go ahead.

Games Convention is taking place from August 21-24, with a press and trade day on August 20. Additional details on travel arrangements will be available in due course on the event website.
