Konami signs deal with Glu Mobile

Glu to distribute Konami games in Europe

Konami has signed a distribution deal with global mobile gaming publisher Glu that will see its key properties released across Europe, as well as in the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

The games will be produced by Konami's own mobile development facilities in Europe. Details of the product lineup and release schedule are still under wraps, but the first fruit of the partnership is due to appear in the second half of 2007. The deal lasts several years.

"Glu's reputation and track record of creating hits on mobile made them the partner of choice for bringing our key titles to mobile gamers in these key regions," said Kunio Neo, president of Konami Digital Entertainment.

"Our collaboration with Glu will ensure that the Konami games that people love will be quickly and easily accessible and available to as many consumers as possible."

Konami's most successful franchises include the Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill and Pro Evolution Soccer series of games.
