KODE5 Launches KODE5 South Korea

Cable TV Prepares to Broadcast the Revolution

(Seoul, KOREA) - August 1, 2006 - One of the most powerful mediums available is television, and in 2006, word of the Global Gaming Revolution will be broadcast on cable TV in the epicenter of e-sports: South Korea. In association with International e-Sports Group (IEG), KODE5 is pleased to announce the launch of KODE5 South Korea, a gaming event that welcomes Counter-Strike 1.6 and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne gamers from around the world to compete in a series of online and offline qualifiers. The finalists will then go to MBCgame Studios to face off for the right to represent South Korea at the KODE5 Global Finals in September. Supported globally by Foxconn, Corsair Memory, and Razer, and supported regionally by many others, the KODE5 Global Gaming Revolution takes competitive gaming to an international stage with events being held in 20+ countries worldwide.

KODE5 South Korea Regional Qualifier

From August 14th to September 1st, IEG will be holding online qualifiers to give gamers from the entire region a chance to qualify for the KODE5 Korea Finals. For gamers fortunate enough to be in South Korea from September 18th to September 21st, IEG will also hold offline qualifiers at MBCgame Studio. The finalists from the online and offline qualifiers will qualify to attend the KODE5 Korea Finals.

KODE5 South Korea Finals

To help spread the message of KODE5 to the people of South Korea, IEG will hold the KODE5 South Korea Finals at MBCgame Studios. The event, scheduled for September 22nd, will be broadcast on Korean cable TV, reaching thousands of homes across the country. With cameras filming every play, the finalists of KODE5 South Korea will have an incredible opportunity to display their talents to a national audience, and further promote the dominance of e-sports in South Korea.

International e-Sports Group (IEG) plays an active role in introducing international e-sports contests to South Korea. IEG is a consulting company that enables Korean gamers to compete in international contests, and specializes in Korean broadcasting systems & operations know-how.
