Nowadays people can be divided into two main groups: those who got addicted to it and those who just haven't heard of it yet.

BBC news quotes a veteran puzzle producer Michael Mepham: "I've never seen anything in the puzzle industry that's caused such a fuss"!

How did Sudoku start?

Sudoku initially became popular in Japan in 1986. In 2005 it got popularity around the world and turned to be as addictive as 1980s Rubik's cube!

So what is this Sudoku fuss about?

It's actually a puzzle that primary could be found in newspapers & books. It looks like just another numbers game, the difference is it can be played using logic alone, no maths involved at all! The only rule is the following: you should fill empty squares the board with digits, in a way that in every column, every row and every 3x3 area, each from the digits 1-9 appears exactly once. Player should do that in as short time as possible.
