Mobile developer Com2uS's boss named as one of Ernst & Young's five Entrepreneurs of the Year.

Com2uS, a leading developer and publisher of mobile games, today announced that company CEO Jiyoung Park was named as one of five Entrepreneurs of the Year by Ernst & Young on January 14, 2009 in Seoul, Korea. The 34 year-old female executive was recognized in the special award category for her contributions to elevating mobile games as a key generator of growth in the digital content industry via qualified mobile game brands and innovative business models. Com2uS just celebrated ten years of operations in 2008. The company owns several hit series, including Mini Game Pack, with over seven million accumulated downloads, Super Action Hero, We R Puzzle Family, and Bung-au-pang Tycoon.

"Our company's innovations and experiences with micro-billing payment systems and massively multiplayer role-playing in mobile games have been gaining attention throughout the industry," said Park. "Being honored with this award reflects the rising status of the mobile digital content business, bringing it in line with other key sectors such as food, pharmaceuticals, trading, and heavy industries.¡±

The Com2uS current lineup includes Chronicles of Inotia: Legend of Feanor, Trapped: Undead Infection, Crazy Hotdogs, Disney Puzzle Family, and Tower Defense for touch based gadgets and traditional mobile phones throughout the world.

Ernst & Young introduced the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in the United States in 1986 and has expanded it to more than 50 countries to encourage entrepreneurial activities. Five awards are given out in the categories of master entrepreneur, heavy industry entrepreneur, shipbuilding entrepreneur, the rising star, and a special award. This was its second annual event in Korea. Winners were judged on leadership, vision, financial performance, perspective, and influence on industry growth in and outside Korea by a panel of judges representing the business community, academia, and civic organizations.
