Jewel Master: Cradle of Egypt

DS puzzle follow-up to arrive on June 18th.

Tuesday 1st June 2010: Leading video games publisher Rising Star Games has today announced that Jewel Master: Cradle of Egypt, the follow up to Jewel Master: Cradle of Rome will launch on the Nintendo DS on 18th June.

Building on the success of its predecessor, Cradle of Egypt offers a unique take on the puzzle genre, incorporating tools and bonus items inspired by ancient Egyptian mythology, which in turn help players recreate their own Egyptian empire.

The game uses the addictive and often frantic Match-3 engine, coupled with an engaging resource mechanic. Three or more of the same tiles must be linked together to smash the underlying blue marble tiles, all within a time limit; the quicker players are, the bigger the time bonus.

The more time bonus points are accrued the more materials can be bought to rebuild the Egyptian civilisation, and along with this, each tile represents a different item - gold, building materials and food.

Each board has varying levels of difficulty and as players progress new challenges materialise - tiles often appear 'locked' with one or two chains and the layout of the board often proves a challenge within itself. Once all of the blue tiles are smashed, a Scarab will appear on the board and must be freed.

"Jewel Master: Cradle of Egypt is a fun way to pass the time, whether on a commute, while stuck indoors on a rainy day or while travelling to a holiday destination," says Martin Defries, managing director, Rising Star Games. "There's no denying Cradle of Egypt is an extremely addictive puzzle game that gamers will find difficult to put down."

With an impressive 100 levels to complete in Standard mode, across over 20 historical sites from five eras, the fun never ends as each level can be revisited in Relax mode.

Jewel Master: Cradle of Egypt launches on 18th June for the Nintendo DS.
