Japanese charts dominated by new titles

Software sales chart sees new games occupy the top positions for the week ended June 29

A spate of newly released titles have debuted in Japan taking over the top half of the software sales charts for the week ended June 29, according to data from Media Create.

Horse collecting game Derby Stallion DS, the latest in the Japanese fan favourite series, broke into the charts at number one. Following closely behind was the RPG title Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World for the Wii at second place and the music-creation game Daigasso! Band Brothers DX for the DS at third.

Shinseki Evangelion Pachislot Vol. 12 for the PS2 debuted on the chart at fourth and Higurashi no Nakukoru ni Kizuna: Dai-Ichi-Kan, an action adventure game, broke into the chart at fifth place.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots dropped to seventh place while Mario Kart Wii and Super Mario Stadium Family Baseball, also for the Wii, were in eighth and ninth places respectively.

Closing the chart at tenth place is another new title Gundam Operation Troy for the Xbox 360.
