Infogrames still hopeful of hitting targets

Troubled French publisher Infogrames has told Les Echos that it still hopes to hit its full year sales target of EUR 305 million for the 2007 fiscal year, but that it's not there just yet.

Troubled French publisher Infogrames has told Les Echos that it still hopes to hit its full year sales target of EUR 305 million for the 2007 fiscal year, but that it's not there just yet.

Chairman Patrick Leleu told the newspaper, in a CNN Money translation, that Christmas sales were "good" although didn't specify details.

The company is planning to release ten next-gen titles in the next year as well as 30 on Nintendo consoles, and Leleu explained that Infogrames is looking to become a publisher of family-oriented titles.

However, that won't necessarily herald a wholesale shift away from more niche content, and the company's big hope for this year could rest with Alone in the Dark, which has been reiterated as a May release.
