IGA Worldwide appoints media heavyweight from THQ to accelerate global revenues

Tim Walsh brings 18 years of publishing industry savvy covering games, software and music to his new role asVice President of Media Acquisition for IGA

IGA Worldwide, Inc., the leading independent in-game advertising company, has announced a 'blue chip appointment' with Tim Walsh joining the company as Vice President of Media Acquisition.

Walsh brings 18 years of senior publishing industry knowledge and expertise to his new role in charge of IGA Worldwide's global interactive entertainment software publishing partnerships.

In this new role he will be responsible for accelerating the growth of IGA's proprietary Radial ad serving network, by increasing the available content for lucrative placement of in-game advertising for the world's leading brands and agencies.

Most recently Walsh was President of THQ Wireless, Inc., a division of the $800 million in revenues THQ, Inc. Walsh previously led the entertainment group's international division, as Senior Vice President, International Publishing, generating sales from $13 million to $200 million in under seven years, the fastest CAGR in the industry at the time.

"Tim is a key global player in this industry and a very credible one at that," said Justin Townsend, CEO of IGA Worldwide. "His knowledge of the publishing industry and talent for building profitable relationships quickly, will undoubtedly accelerate and help consolidate IGA's position as a world leader of in-game advertising," he added.

While Walsh has nine years of experience with publishing giant THQ, earlier in his career he led international business development for Accolade, a company that was sold to Atari, and previous to this role he held development and international roles at Time Warner, Capital Records and EMI Music.
