I-play leads O2’s 2005 Top 10 downloads chart

London, UK - 2nd February, 2006: I-play, the mobile games company today announced that half of the games in O2's Top 10 mobile games downloads chart in 2005 were games that it had published. At the last week's Mobile Games Forum in London, Antony Douglas, O2's Head of Games, UK, announced the Top 10 O2 downloads of 2005:

At number one position 3D Pool - I-play; at number two, EA SPORTS Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 2005 - I-play; at number six, The Weakest Link - I-play; at number seven, Space Invaders - I-play; and at number nine, Colin McRae Rally 2005TM - I-play.

The rise in popularity of original IP is clearly notable, with I-play and Distinctive Development's 3D Pool topping the 2005 charts.

David Gosen, acting CEO of I-play commented: "O2 is leading the market in terms of deck management and is the most progressive operator in its approach to marketing mobile games. 2005 was an incredibly successful year for I-play, both in the UK, the rest of Europe and North America. O2 is an extremely valued customer of I-play and we look forward to building an even stronger foundation to the mobile games market with them in 2006."

I-play's 2006 roadmap boasts a number of new mobile gaming concepts under both original IP brands and licenses, which it will reveal in the coming weeks.
