HMV signs as retail partner for Eurogamer Expo

Entertainment retailer backs October consumer event

Entertainment retailer HMV has signed up as the retail partner for this year's Eurogamer Expo.

The event, which takes place October 1-3 at Earls Court in London, will see 20,000 UK gamers gather to sample some of the biggest games set for release this year and next.

"The last two years have been a sell-out smash. With plans for 2010 well underway and talks of 2011 set to begin, we're thrilled to be entering a longer-term partnership with HMV," commented Rupert Loman, managing director at Eurogamer.

"The Eurogamer formula of giving gamers what they want is a winner for consumers and the industry alike - it's about playing great games in a great venue at a great price."

The Expo is set to announce the first batch of games and publishing partners for the event in the coming months, and the show will also include sessions by leading developers as well as the GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair, allowing students and graduates to meet with international development and publishing companies.
