Highbury’s XBM gets playable demo DVD

For Immediate Release: 31 January 2005

The February issue of Highbury Entertainment's XBM sees a change of direction for the No.1 best-selling unofficial Xbox magazine. It comes packaged with a DVD-ROM containing four playable demos of dual format Xbox and PC games as well as the latest Xbox game trailers, screenshot galleries and playing tips. The DVD is packaged with an Xbox Live supplement and a 144 page book containing solutions to Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II and Mech Assault II Lone Wolf.

Issue 42, on sale 3 February, boasts demos of Need for Speed Underground 2, Prince of Persia Warrior Within, FIFA 2005 and Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow. Nick Roberts, Managing Editor of Highbury Entertainment's Videogames division commented, "Our reader research shows that nearly 90% of Xbox owners also have a PC at home, so it made perfect sense to us to provide them with playable demos of great games that have an Xbox and PC release. These demos are backed up by the latest Xbox game trailers, so readers get a double-hit DVD promotion with XBM."

From its launch in 2001 XBM quickly established itself as the number one unofficial magazine for Xbox gamers and has gained a reputation for innovative promotions with official guides, audio CDs and limited edition art prints proving popular with readers and the games industry. The magazine is built on strong foundations of honest reviews, exclusive previews and an ability to evolve to meet reader expectations.

XBM issue 42 is on sale 3 February and is backed by promotion throughout Highbury Entertainment's videogames portfolio and online at TotalGames.net.
