Half-Minute HerOLL

Four-part audio experiment promising to create the world's fastest gaming news.

8th February 2010: Rising Star Games and Resonance FM's One Life Left have today announced 'Half-Minute HerOLLs' - a four-part audio experiment which combines Half-Minute Hero with the Games Media Award-winning broadcast to create the world's fastest gaming news.

Running for four weeks from 9th February through until 8th March 2010, the One Life Left Half-Minute Specials will round up everything that's been happening in the previous week - all in just 30 seconds.

The 30-second specials will bridge the gap between series five and six, as the team take a much-deserved break from delivering what's literally been described as the "best games broadcast" (2009 GMAs). The 'Half-Minute HerOLLs' will be available free to One Life Left iTunes subscribers every Tuesday morning, and also available to stream from the Rising Star Games Hoshi site ( www.risingstargames.com/hoshi).

"Simon was playing Half-Minute Hero around the same time as we were all discussing what we should do during the break between seasons," says Ann Scantlebury, news reader, One Life Left. "Well here's proof we really shouldn't drink: what was clearly a ridiculous idea has quickly become reality, and we're going to try to sum up the week's most important gaming news, in just 30 seconds. Given the theme tune lasts 28 seconds, that's going to be quite a challenge."

"This is another example of how Half-Minute Hero has captured the imagination of game-players the world over," adds Martin Defries, managing director, Rising Star Games. "We're delighted to be working with the best games broadcast in the country on what should hopefully be the audio equivalent of the most inventive games around and prove that an idea that shouldn't quite work on paper, is brilliant in reality."

A homage to a bygone era, Half-Minute Hero fuses old-school visuals with a modern-day twist. In each level, a Dark Lord discovers a new way to destroy our Hero's world: he must solve a series of puzzles and level-up enough to defeat the massive end-of-level boss. In 30 seconds. Every time.

The first Half-Minute HerOLL will be available on Tuesday 9th February 2010.

Half-Minute Hero will be available on PlayStation Portable on Friday 12th February 2010.

Series six of One Life Left will begin on Resonance FM in March 2010.
