Guildhall at SMU reception

G4's "X-Play" host Adam Sessler to address graduating class.

Dallas, Texas – (May 3, 2010) – Video game industry veteran and host of G4’s “X-Play,” Adam Sessler, will deliver a commencement address to The Guildhall at SMU’s graduating class during a reception held in their honor. As host of the most watched and longest running video game series on television and Editor-in-Chief, G4 Games Content, Sessler often lends his expertise to national media outlets including CNN, MSNBC, USA Today, and many others. On May 14, Sessler will help memorialize the graduation ceremony for the class of 2010.

“Adam has a multi-dimensional insight into the video game industry. He possesses a keen understanding not only of those who play, make, distribute and sell video games, but also the culture - how it’s evolving and where it’s headed,” said Dr. Peter Raad, executive director and founder of The Guildhall at SMU. “His knowledge, passion and dynamic personality will both captivate and educate our students.”

Sessler’s relationship with SMU began when he agreed to serve as emcee for the Indie Game Challenge (IGC), an annual independent game competition launched by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, GameStop and SMU.

“The opportunity to give a speech in front of the graduating class of The Guildhall at SMU is an amazing honor and truly humbling,” said Adam Sessler. “In my time knowing Dr. Raad and the SMU program, it’s become clear that this is a group of students who have much to offer the video game industry during this time of great innovation.”

“X-Play” airs at 6:30pm ET/PT, only on G4. For more information on Adam Sessler and “X-Play,” please visit http://g4tv.com/games/xplay/.
