28 September 2010 Three leaders have emerged in the contest for ‘Puzzle Game of the Year’ at the 2010 Golden Joystick Awards with PC and Wii game World of Goo, being hotly pursued by Nintendo DS titles Scribblenauts and Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box

Hot on their heels, the chasing pack features a range of massively popular games titles, including WiiWare sensation Arkanoid Plus!, Grey matter tester Brain Exercise with Dr. Kawashima, Japanese favourite Katamari Forever and stamina-sucking Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll.

The categories in the Golden Joystick Awards are voted for by the only people who matter – the gamers themselves. Known as the ‘people’s gaming awards’ it is also held in high esteem in the global video games industry with nearly 1,000 executives attending the glittering ceremony, held this year at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel on 29th October 2010.

 

The ever-growing Golden Joystick Awards has been the ultimate accolade in gaming since 1982 and is now recognised as the biggest and most popular gaming awards on the planet. Gamers cast 1,223,646 votesin 2009 as the awards scooped its own accolade, being named ‘World’s most popular video games awards’ by Guinness World Records.
